Entrepreneurship is a 5 ECTS nominated course for bachelor students at The Royal Danish Academy of Music, held since 2011.

LEARNING GOALS
After completion of the course the student is able to use and proces general skills related to employment in the field

EVALUATION AND GRADING
The course is a certificate course. To get the certificate, students must:
- Be present and participate in all courses with 1 or 2 lesson
- In courses with 3 – 4 lessons have max. one day of absence
- In courses with 5 lessons or more be present and participate 80 % of the time
If the certificate is not reached, the student must submit a home assignment. All four modules must be passed by certificate. The exam also includes the delivery of an education / career plan (see the course description).
The student is assessed by the course teacher and an internal censor with pass / fail. The assessment is aimed at the students continued learning (summative).
COURSE DESCRIPTION
The aim of the course is to prepare students for the labor market and to the music business demand for innovation and entrepreneurship.
Each academic year six modules is offered on various topics related to the student’s future professional life. For example topics in:
- Project development, project work and project management, including the setting of budgets and financial management
- IT – Office package, website development, web media, etc.
- Writing Course – formulation of project applications and scholarship applications, including the setting of CV
- Music Life Law – bargaining, rights, artist’s private economy, etc.
- Own management – marketing, networking and fundraising and preparation of promotional material
- Mental training – supplemented with audition training
The student must pass four modules during their undergraduate study. In connection with this the need of a personal education / career plan. Information about design and deadlines communicated by the study administration. The preparation of the education / career plan is mandatory and necessary for the subject of entrepreneurship can be passed. The plan is confidential and is only read by the relevant education director and rector.
Class tuition. Students can choose which four modules they will take and when they will take them, however, there must be selected at least one module each academic year. If a student is placed in the second year of study, two modules must be just passed. If a student is placed on the 3rd year of study, just one module must be passed.
