Organization: Lajkka (ended 2010)

Lajkka helps young cultural entrepreneurs in Eskilstuna Vicinity to develop sustainable business concepts.

To reach this goal the project links the best of two venues, institutions stamina and dynamics of the Internet. The project runs a business school and organizes networking activities both off-and on-line.

Business School
The business school is based on a fun and effective process for young people to build self-esteem, enhance their creative abilities, identify their skills/talents, gain knowledge about the idea-, concept- and business development, to gain insight about enterprise and entrepreneurship or getting closer to a job. We work group wise in workshop form with the guidance of experienced process managers.

Developed creativity

Awareness of opportunities to shape the future

Increased self-esteem and confidence

Sees new opportunities and find ways to make something of them

Finds the studens drive or passion

Inituated process to start a business

Ready for employment / study

Presentation material

Network and contacts

Transnational Network
The transnational networks wants to build Nordic and Baltic transnational networks collaborating to understand this digital continent and how it can support cultural development both for the individual artist as well as for regional growth. Lajkka is now reaching out to find partners who are willing to engage in the exploration of the digital continent. The goal is a mutual exchange of experiences and to develop new methods. The exploration will manifest in joint seminars, workshops, informal meetings and maybe some kind of exhibition.

The Lajkka-project is financed and made possible by Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth [Tillväxtverket], EU regional funds and Eskilstuna Municipality. The project’s domicile is Eskilstuna Museum of Art.
