Educational organization: HUMAK University of Applied Sciences

HUMAK is an incubator, a research and educational center at HUMAK University of Applied Sciences focusing on creative entrepreneurship. 

One of the key focuses of HUMAK is to develop cultural management, strengthen creative industries and entrepreneurship. They have a significant role in Finland bridging the creative sector with other sectors and utilizing culture as an interface for building up new multidisciplinary innovations.

HUMAK’s activities
HUMAK runs a business incubator Creve (Creative Venture), as well as Kulttuurivarikko (Culture Pit Stop), a training and counselling service for the creative sector.

Other current projects explore i.e. the possibilities for co-operation between the creative sector and heavy industry such as maritime and metal industry (Caleidoscope) as well as using art-based methods in social and youth work (MIMO). Comenius-funded Take Two Europe aims to improve the communication skills of young people in order to boost their career development, while Step Up – Cross Border City in Action creates event management networks and training in the Finnish-Russian border areas.
