Educational incubator: Sliperiet

Slipperiest is an open, flexible incubator environment at Umeå University Arts Campus, designed on and adressed the challenges and needs that exist on the market.

Sliperiet is:

• An incubator for the service sector and new industries.
• A dynamic meetingplace for researchers, students, the private sector and public organisations.
• A workshop in the borderland between the digital and the physical, with 3D printers and a sound lab, for example.

At Sliperiet students be able to come here with their business ideas, researchers can hold seminars, and companies and organisations can get help with new challenges at Sliperiet.

Sliperiet is placed at the Scharinska wood grinding mill, in the middle of the Umeå Arts Campus.

PRESENTATION AT ENTRENORD
During the EntreNord Conference from the 12. – 14. November 2014 Sliperiet was introduced as a case by Linnea Dimitriou. The presentation elaborated on how to create an open environment for the arts educations and why interdisciplinary collaborations are important among art students.
