COURSE DESCRIPTION

The main focus of the course is to identify, develop and present one’s personal portfolio. The course will help students to become aware of their different identities, roles and opportunities in the musical life and other areas of expertise, to make them better equipped to create a life as music workers.

LEARNING GOALS

Upon completion of the course students are expected to

• have a conscious awareness of their own artistic identities
• have knowledge of various communication channels and target groups
• be able to communicate with various target groups about their own areas of expertise
• have basic knowledge of using social media and other media channels

EXAM

Active participation in classes and at the end of the semester the students present their personal portfolio for each other and the course teacher(s).

PRESENTATION AT ENTRENORD

During the EntreNord Conference from the 12. – 14. November 2014 Professional Portfolio was introduced as a case by Lisbeth Wathne Svinø. The presentation elaborated on how to raise the students’ awareness of their artistic and professional identity. The case presentation also emphasizes, why it is important to learn to communicate your identity and professional roles to different audiences and target groups.
