COURSE DESCRIPTION

Together with DTU Informatics, K3 from Malmö Högskola and The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Schools of Architecture, Design and Conservation, School of Architecture, CAKI – Center for Applied Artistic Innovation carried out a three-week course in multidisciplinary innovation and design.

The course varied between theory, field study, workshops, critique, product development and presentations in the themes as city, space, design, analysis, process, society, technology, and experiment.

The course treated the following issues:

Development and design through theory, process and practice.
Relations between culture, forms of accommodation and lifestyle.
The reciprocal influence between surroundings and lifestyle
The course focused on social entrepreneurship, which is defined by the method of finding new and better was to work with and solve current and future welfare challenges.

In the course this included testing new forms of citizen involvement and user participation in development phases. This approach can have co-production as a starting point. Here professional developers methodically involve citizens, public institutions or private companies as co-producers with the goal to find new ways to produce welfare solutions. Co-production can be applied as a methodical approach in the meeting between the artistic and the social field.

Working with social entrepreneurship is an important part of discovering new employment opportunities for artistic and creative students.
